Comedians

Eshaan Akbar is undeniably charming who has established himself as an exciting performer.  A former banker, ex-Muslim, and the son of a Thatcherite and a Labourite, he has plenty of material to draw from.  With spades of stage presence and a quick wit capable of handling even the harshest of hecklers, Akbar sends himself up by deconstructing his own life and wringing laughs from his ethnicity, deafness and family life.

Rhys James may be fresh faced but that belies a career as a comedian which started before he left school.  He refined his craft in competitions such as Comedy Central`s Funniest Student and made his Edinburgh Debut in 2010 where he was described as sickeningly talented.  He has made numerous TV appearances on shows such as Mock the Week, Stand up Central and many more.

Simon Clayton Lads bible Loaded once famously described Simon as “Like a bottle of HP Sauce – Fat, Brown & Fruity!” Festival goers will certainly be in safe hands as his experience at making audiences laugh dates from 1995.

Sol Bernstein is back! After 25 years of semi-retirement, playing nursing homes, the oldest living Jewish comedian is back where he belongs, in comedy clubs performing to drunks.  The man who Harry Hill calls “simply my favourite comic” tells tales of the high life and the biggest stars.  He has got so much to say and being in his 80`s – so little time to say it so catch this legend and genius while you still have the chance!

RUSSELL HICKS is one of the most exciting comics to come out of America and branded one of the ‘Top Six Comics to Watch’ by LA’s Stand Up Talk Magazine. He has appeared on Direct TV’s ‘What’s News?’ and is a regular guest on hit podcasts such as Talkin’ Sh*t with Eddie Ifft. Russell is prolific and consistently delivers quality new work, Fast and loose, no two shows are ever the same.

DARREN WALSH is so compelled to crack puns that you’d think it was an illness. His act is a high-tempo session of wordplay with bells and whistles, props, jingles, songs and animations. He was crowned the UK’s first Pun Champion which led to a book of over 1000 cartoons and gags. In 2015 he debuted in Edinburgh with his show PUNDERBOLT and won Dave’s funniest Joke of the Fringe.
